About

El Paso County ReCo is a group of non-profit organizations that cultivate powerful, healthy lives by providing peer emotional support and development services to both the majority and the diverse minorities of the El Paso County Recovery Community and its allies embracing issues of mental health,  chemical, and behavioral addiction, and chronic illness. ReCo fully embraces multiple pathways and hopes to grow our acceptance and support of each other.  We are active members of the Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO).

Wellness through Movement, Yoga, and Social Supports

Yoga of 12-Step Recovery was created as a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Y12SR “connects the dots” by combining the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-step recovery model – the most well-known addiction recovery program in the world, with millions of active practitioners.

Volunteer Intern Program

Embark/PCA now engages a Volunteer & Internship Program that offers volunteers a standardized orientation, scheduling, and training process as well as various volunteer position descriptions that contain professional responsibilities volunteers can apply to personal career advancement.
Volunteers are recruited from all walks of life and bring with them a recovery, cultural, economic, and educational perspective that adds diversity to the team. Embark/PCA volunteers are college students and interns, individuals in early or long-term recovery, retired professionals, unemployed recoverees, allies, and individuals providing community service hours or probation requirements.

LGBTQ- POC  All are welcome

Our group facilitator is Errol Flynn. Errol is an LGBTQ CACII and Recovery Coach Trainer pursuing a  CAC III currently working with an African American Health Disparities Organization in Denver. Passions include good music,  time with his partner and recovery support for, with, by the LGBTQ-POC community and educating medical, mental health, and substance use providers on how to be more inclusive in their practices.  Currently we host 2 LGBTQ meetings @ The Clubhouse- www.embarkreco.events

About 12 million Americans from all walks of life identify QT BI POC- These individuals experience problems with alcohol and drugs at higher rates than the rest of the population, perhaps in response to social pressures, lack of acceptance, or discrimination.

Whether you’re concerned about a friend’s or family member’s substance use or you’re evaluating your own use of drugs or alcohol, you are not alone. Reaching out for support takes strength, and seeking treatment is the first step toward recovery.

SMART Recovery for Individuals with Addictions & SMART Recovery Family & Friends

SMART is not just any mutual-support program. Our science-based approach emphasizes self-empowerment and self-reliance. There’s no lifetime commitment; you decide when the time is right to move on. You choose how to personalize your own plan for successful change. SMART can be used both as a stand-alone program or in combination with other recovery paths. SMART Recovery recognizes the only one who can become truly expert on your recovery is you.  We host a SMART Recovery meeting every Tuesday @The Clubhouse www.embarkreco.com/events

Recover Simply- Recover the Fun

Recover The Fun groups are centered on the creative arts and the outdoors and are designed to remind us that fun can be had without the use of substances. The purpose of the group is to provide a  relaxed, friendly, and fun environment where we connect to each other and ourselves - because part of the work of recovery is relearning how to have fun.   Recover Simply hosts 9 meetings online every week @The Clubhouse www.embarkreco.com/events

Recover the Fun groups are currently held the third Wednesday of the month with more events on the way.

Goals
Our goal at Sober AF Entertainment is simple. Promote “no drunk” areas and support sober safe zones. As a non-profit, we can purchase tickets at a discount and sell them to people wanting to enjoy themselves in these safe zones. We offer sober tailgates to engage our community. Our website includes a calendar of events nationally with other sober support groups like The Phoenix, YPAA and the Collegiate Recovery activities. We want to be the voice for people looking for a safe place to have fun! Promote, educate and support the public about sober SAFE Zones and other support groups. Our website allows other groups to contact us so we can help promote their own sober tailgates.

  1. Promote and manage Sober SAFE Zones at major sporting events. Work with major sporting teams to set up blocks of tickets at our nonprofit discount rate. Set up tailgate party before event to connect and engage community. We manage events on our website. Host at least one sporting event per month.

  2. Create calendar of events for people wanting to promote a sober tailgate. Interview groups hosting sober tailgates.

  3. Promote sober support groups that are activity working music festivals or certain bands using our website and calendar of events. Interview members of these support groups to help educate concert goers of these groups and activities such as sober campgrounds and other fun activities.

  4. Host a concert/festival using sober musicians and DJ’s once a year. Host sober DJ events quarterly.
